I read romance because of the HEA and because after craziness at work and in the world, who doesn't need a story you can lose yourself in?

I've been reading romance books for 20 years. I love how they take me away from my everyday life to a place of excitement. It just gives me a little time each day for just "me time."

I love romance for the happy endings of course. The news is always so grim and rage filled, so it's nice to get away from that for awhile.

I've been reading romance novels since my grandmother introduced me to Harlequin's when I was in high school (mmmm years ago). I've since moved on to some great books and new authors. There's just a certain feeling you get when reading a romance that you can't get from any other genre. They don't get old, they get better (and hotter).

I've been reading romance since I first ran across some Georgette Heyer books in the library, and I've never stopped loving them. Romance books have changed over the years, but in a really good way. There are so many more choices now, with all the great sub-genres to choose from. And every one has a happily ever after, which is just what I'm looking for.

It's the guaranteed happy ending, that's why!
ReplyDeleteI love a good romance because I lose myself for a little while. I get to become part of something greater- completely different from me.

Romance books are pure escapism. I love the 'dance' between the hero & heroine. The HEA is a bonus.

I have been an avid reader since a very young child. I feel it beats a good massage any day, you escape from your daily grind, fall in love with the characters, better than chocolate. Much cheaper that therapy!!! Kretch1@att.net

ReplyDeleteI read romance because it's an escape from the every day. I get sucked into the story and the "headaches" of real life melt away.
ReplyDeleteI read romance because I love the feeling you get when you read a really good sweet love story!!! Also it is fun to imagine a world full of love!!
ReplyDeleteThey provide a great escape for a little while from the normal everyday life we all have to function in. In them you get to virtually experience what you dream of and hope that someday happens for you in RL and you get your HEA along with the characters.
