A fast, cozy little mystery.

Why?

Because I can get the fix in, read it fast and get on to another book. And I stick to authors or publishers I trust to keep me entertained.

If it's been a real drought, I'm likely to shy away from the stuff I know will totally lure Maureenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01517092592545660754noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5818271631097544110.post-29592907134773779892010-10-25T13:52:58.313-04:002010-10-25T13:52:58.313-04:00It can be so tricky picking the right book to read...It can be so tricky picking the right book to read! I need the distraction of a good book right now, and even though there are plenty of books around, they don't seem to be the "right" one, and I don't want to leave to get something from the library or the bookstore. (Good thing I don't have the instant access of buying for an e-reader -- I'd be like one of those lab Donna Cummingshttp://www.allaboutthewriting.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5818271631097544110.post-50905951540449508072010-10-25T13:35:14.793-04:002010-10-25T13:35:14.793-04:00I have a fairly long list of autobuy authors, so I...I have a fairly long list of autobuy authors, so I usually have a book by one or more of them waiting to be read. They are the books I reach for first. For example, last week I read a book to review that I had to force myself to finish. My reward was Robyn Carr's Jan. '11 release. If I've read several books that didn't wotk for me consecutively, I reread a keeper. Any form. Doesn't have to be Regency, though Regency-set is my favorite. The historical does have to be foreign (non-American)-set. Sometimes paranormal, but I'm still new to reading that sub-genre.

Great question!Noelle Piercehttp://noellepierce.weebly.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5818271631097544110.post-3703871461941301722010-10-25T11:34:25.986-04:002010-10-25T11:34:25.986-04:00I'm going through that experience right now. ...I'm going through that experience right now. I've got so many books I feel like I *need* to read that I can't bring myself to WANT to read any of them. I have a stack of holds from the library, all of which seemed exciting when I requested them, but too many came at once. So somehow the time pressure of needing to read them before the lending period is up makes them feel like Susanna Fraserhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16149293228696867804noreply@blogger.com
